Translation and Publication
“Modern Literature of Asia” Series – translation into and publication in Japanese of modern literature of other Asian countries.
Of modern literature of other Asian countries (including novels, poetry, essays, plays, and review), we translate and publish only the selected ones which are desirable to be introduced to Japan. The purpose of this activity is to understand aspects of other Asian countries today through their literature. The publications have been donated to libraries and universities in Japan. We are working on the digitization of our collections which were already published including the latest ones, and offer free download from our website.
“Japanese Mirrors” Series – translation into and publication in other Asian languages of Japanese publication
In other Asian countries, we translate Japanese publications into their mother tongues and publish them in their countries. The series aims at presenting information on Japan to Japanologists and citizens of other Asian countries through Japanese culture, politics, economy, history, environmental issues, and people as their example or admonition. It also aims at promoting a greater understanding about Japan. The publications have been donated to libraries and schools in Asian countries.
Educational Assistance in Southeast Asia
We have made donations of books and school supplies since the year 2004 for students who were not endowed with the environment of study in Southeast Asia.
